Well, its the last day of CTIA Wireless and it’s pretty clear there won’t be any nuvifone carrier or pricing announcements forthcoming from Garmin-Asus. I‘m hoping this is just due to AT&T not wanting to steal the thunder from their new introductions that are coming sooner than the nuvifone.
So the news from the show is limited, but here’s what we’ve seen so far:
From infoSync, regarding the Linux-based nuvifone G60 (follow the link for more):
“The Web browser is Garmin's own Webkit-based browser, and it worked nicely in our hands-on time. Our own homepage rendered near-perfectly, and we had no trouble navigating the Web with our fingers and zooming in and out of a large page.”
And no surprise here, but there are reports that the nuvifones on display are using AT&T SIM chips.
