Navigon is announcing three new models today -- the 3300 max, 4300T and 7300T. The big news is the MyRoutes feature, which provides up to three route choices with distance and ETA calculated for all entered destinations, factoring in speed limits, construction and traffic. As you can see above, route options are displayed on a map with ETA and driving time.
This is similar to what we've seen on the Dash Express and Insignia units, yet Navigon says that "the system continuously saves the driver’s individual driving data in order to provide the best individual route possible and recommends a route based on the user’s driving habits, the day of week and time of travel." Dash did something similar, but the feature had significant limitations - it would only record a route from one destination to another. If you wanted to do a shorter trip along the same route, or go in the reverse direction, it would not work. It will be interesting to see how well Navigon has handled the nuances and the challenges of delivering a feature such as this.
All three units announced today include the MyRoutes feature, have 4.3" touch screens, text-to-speech and are slated to be available in the second quarter of 2009.
Navigon 3300 max
Traffic isn't included with the 3300 max (shown below), so routing won't factor traffic without paying extra for it. The 3300 max does include many Navigon features like Reality View for Exits, Lane Assist Pro, Exit Guide, DirectHelp and SmartSpeller. A new clickable POIs feature allows you to tap a POI to route to it. MSRP is $199.99.
Navigon 4300T
The 4300T (shown below) adds Reality View Pro, Rand McNally Scenic Routes and Bluetooth for hands free cell phone use. MSRP is $279.99.
Navigon 7300T
The 7300T (shown below) adds an updated voice address entry and control system, Landmark View 3D and the Panorama View 3D first seen on the Navigon 8100T. It also includes Speed Assistant, and Zagat ratings and reviews. MSRP is $399.99.
FreshMaps for $39.99
As if these feature-laden devices weren't enough, Navigon is offering their two-year map update service, Freshmaps, for $39.99 if activated within 30 days of purchasing the device. It usually runs $79.99.
