According to TWICE, Magellan has suspended development of the connected Maestro Elite 5340+GPRS:
The device had been slated for March shipment. “Although Magellan believes there is great promise in connected navigation, in the near term, consumers have shown an unwillingness to pay a steep price for PNDs, especially with the recent economic downturns,” the company said. “We have suspended our development on this device and will re-examine the market potential when the climate changes.”
Connected devices are falling like flies. With Dash's announcement a little while ago that it is leaving the PND hardware market, this leaves Best Buy with the only two-way connected device on the market! I've got one of those and will have a full review soon, but so far I'm unimpressed.
C'mon Garmin -- I want my nuvifone!
Not surprised. I tried one of these. The basic GPS aspects worked fine, but the connectivity, websearch and POIs were horrible. Worked about 10% of the time and almost killed me, repeatedly, fiddling with their atrocious screen menus and icons. I did find it helpful to be able to toggle between 2D and 3D mode and the battery life was excellent... you could carry the device around like a small tablet computer. Interesting idea poorly executed?

I have a Triton 400, the instructions say I can insert an SD card in the slot! What slot? My new 400 doesn't have a slot.

There should be a flap on the right hand side covering the slot. If not, you have a 200 or 300 instead.
