Voice command Garmin nuvi 880 on sale

UPDATE: Originally slated to go off sale Septmeber 18, I'm leaving this post up since, here it is the 19th and the price has declined even more, to $699.95.

Amazon has the voice command, top of the line, Garmin nuvi 880 on sale for $729.91 for the next two weeks. As far as I can tell, this is at least $100 lower than any price they've offered before. I got to review the Garmin nuvi 880 a few months ago and found it to be the best voice command system I've tried on any GPS. I think the $1,000 price tag is the only thing that has kept this unit from becoming more popular, so it's nice to see it drop a little lower.

This deal expires September 18.

Navigon 2200T announced UPDATE: Read my hands on review of the Navigon 2200T. The Navigon 2200T, a feature-laden successor to the Navigon 2100, is being announced this morning. With a 3.5" screen and a suggested retail price of $229.99, the 2200T will be an entry-level device for Navigon, albeit with a richness of features equal to mid- to high-range units from other manufacturers: Lifetime traffic Reality ViewTM Pro and Lane Assist Pro Text-to-speech Speed limit display Multi-destination trip planning DirectHelpTM The Navigon 2200T includes maps of the 48 contiguous United States and "millions" of points of interest. Like the Navigon 7200T, the 2200T uses the newest generation Navigon interface, which promises improvements over earlier models. Another advance is the second-generation Reality View Pro that "provides 3D images and actual road sign text for virtually every highway interchange and exit you will encounter." Navigon continues to offer loads of features and aggressive pricing, which has propelled them past Mio to the number four GPS manufacturer spot in the U.S. market. If Navigon goes after an even greater market share with aggressive pricing this holiday season (which would mean Black Friday deals on the 2200T for less than $100), Magellan better watch out, lest Navigon...

Garmin nuvi 205 review The Garmin nuvi 205 is one of Garmin's newest entry level navigators. Like the rest of the 2x5 series, it comes with features previously unavailable in the nuvi line or found only in high-end models. Before we get into the details, let's look at the basics. The 205 sports a 3.5" touch screen and includes pre-loaded maps of the entire U.S. except Alaska. It does not feature text-to-speech, so you'll hear "drive one-half mile, then turn left" instead of "drive one-half mile, then turn left on Oak Street." Compare prices on the Garmin nuvi 205 Step up to the nuvi 205W, and you'll get the same feature set on a wider 4.3" screen. Another model, the nuvi 255 keeps the 3.5" screen, but adds text-to-speech and maps of Alaska and Canada, while the 255W offers these same features in a wide screen model.
