Garmin's nuvifone delayed to first half of 2009

Garmin has put out a news release ahead of their Q2 earnings call later today, which included this update on the nuvifone:

"The nuvifone will not be available in fourth quarter as previously announced. While we had hoped to have carrier launches in the fourth quarter, we have found that meeting some of the carrier specific requirements will take longer than anticipated. We remain pleased with carrier interest in the device and are working toward making necessary design changes to meet their requirements. We anticipate launching the product during the first half of 2009."

Sounds like we won't see the nuvifone until at least March of next year, since they weren't confident enough to say the first quarter.

Top 10 GPS for July 2008 Not seeing last month's list? Click here for the latest listing of the top ten GPS receivers on GPS Tracklog. Once again, there were only minor changes in this month's top ten GPS list, though there was one anomaly. As I always state, the rankings are based on the number of times each review has been read here on GPS Tracklog, which is usually a pretty good indicator of the overall GPS market. This month however, my Navigon 2100 max review got linked to from Woot! and I was inundated with traffic. Otherwise, it wouldn't have made the top ten.
