Video demo of Dash Express

Points of Interest, the Dash Navigation blog, has posted a video demo of the Dash Express. It gives you a good idea how easy it will be to do a Yahoo Local search or grab a GeoRSS feed or KML link and send it to your Dash Express. It's going to be very interesting to see how popular these units become when they hit the streets; their introduction is now slated for the first quarter of 2008.

Free TOPO! upgrade for Magellan Triton coming I know there are lots of us anxiously awaiting the new Magellan Triton lineup, so I couldn't resist posting another tantalizing bit of news, no matter how small. Contours, a new National Geographic Maps blog, has said that they will soon post a free upgrade to allow National Geographic TOPO! maps to work with the Triton series, and they've linked to a TOPO! for Magellan Triton GPS page where they say they'll be posting more info. It sounds like you'll need this upgrade and the new Magellan VantagePoint software too. No new word on a release data for the Tritons though. I'm expecting a review unit the middle of this month, and I'm sure Magellan really wants them on store shelves by Thanksgiving.
