One of our favorite vendors, GPS Now, has a couple of great deals on the Garmin nuvi 750. The really interesting one gets you the nuvi 750 and an MSN Direct receiver with 12 month subscription for $599.99. Basically, this gives you everything available in the nuvi line except for Bluetooth and European maps.
And if you don't want the MSN receiver, you can get the nuvi 750 alone for $499.95. On top of that, shipping is free on these units, and if you order by 5 p.m. Central Time weekdays (excluding holidays) you get same day shipping. Here's a link to their Garmin nuvi 750 page.
I'm amazed at these prices, considering that I paid $750 for my nuvi 660 a year ago!
NOTE: While Amazon prices are notorious for their fluctuation, I've noticed that they are listing it as in stock and sold by The Sharper Image, but for $100 more!
The nuvi 760 and 770 should show up in about another week. The nuvi 700 series incorporates several new features:
- Multi-destination routing
- Automatic sorting of multiple destinations to provide an efficient route
- Tracklog recording
- Speed limit display for many interstates and highways
- The newer internal antenna found on the nuvi 200 series
- Automatic marking of your last position when the unit is turned off (to help you find your car in mega-mall parking lots)
- A "Where am I" safety feature that gives your current location, nearest address, nearest intersection, along with quick access to POIs for the nearest hospitals, police stations and gas stations

Got a Garmin nuvi 750 for $285.00. Thought I had a good deal - actually bought two at that price. Now a guy from that company called me to sell me a memory card and a warranty. I bought a 2 GB card, a 5 year transferable warranty, and a carrying case for $150.00 per unit. Did I get took on something I did not need?

Jim,
I'm afraid so. See if you can back out of it. SD cards are cheap, as are carrying cases. These things rarely break and if it does, and it's out of Garmin's warranty (one year), they'll charge you a flat fee to fix it.
