Not seeing last month's top ten list? Click here for the latest list of the most popular GPS receivers on GPS Tracklog.
Listed below are the top ten sport / handheld models, along with the top ten automotive GPS for August. Rankings are based on the number of times their reviews have been read here on GPS Tracklog. Interestingly enough, while things shifted around a bit, the same models that were here in July remain in each top ten list. This probably reflects some stabilization in the marketplace, now that most new releases for the year have hit the shelves.

I have heard great things about the TomTom 510. I am in the market to buy a new Gps, can you tell me how you would compare it to the TomTom 910. Which one do you prefer?

Ashley,
There is a comparison chart at http://tomtom.com/products/chart.php?product=212
It looks like the key differences are that the 910 has a 20GB HD, speaks street names and has pre-loaded maps of Europe and North America. If you're going to load it down with MP3's, maybe you should go for the 910.

do you have any reports on the use of gps technology for parents to track their children or owners their pets?

Chris,
I don't really have much info on those subjects. I've got a young site, http://gpstrackingsystems.biz , that ultimately will have more info on those products, but its going to be a month or two before I can develop it that far. You might search your wireless carriers site for phones for kids. A Google search for "GPS pet tracking" brings up some products, but I'd look for independent reviews before purchasing. Sorry I couldn't be of more help at this time.
