Last weekend I put up some GPS "short posts." How does Waypoints work as a name for this catch-all? As I indicated then, these are items not warranting a full post, or are links to topics covered elsewhere. So without further ado, here’s the latest GPS briefings:
- Engadget fans rumors that the Sony PSP is getting a GPS add-on and maps, similar to Sony’s upcoming Japanese maps.
- SiRF is introducing SiRFSTAR III LT, a smaller and less power hungry version of the SiRFSTAR III chip getting rave reviews in the new Garmin 60 and 76 x-series receivers.
- Allory posts that Garmin has announced several new versions of their Blue Chart software, but the pages appear to have vanished from Garmin’s website.
- Cartography posts info on some free New Zealand elevation data and other cool NZ mapping booty.
- SlashGeo links to new 40cm Netherlands aerial photography.
- MotionBased reaffirms their commitment to have MB work in Firefox, and links to a handy Firefox extension.
- Chandu Thota reports that Windows Live Local wins a PC Magazine Editors Choice award.
