Short takes for the week:

• Magellan has announced MapSend Topo Mexico, but apparently there is only an SD version, and no CD-ROM version. Via Allory.
• Garmin has pages posted for new versions of BlueChart Americas, BlueChart Atlantic and BlueChart Pacific.
• Just a reminder that you aren’t the only one salivating over GPS units. Protect your GPS against theft. Even if you remove your GPS receiver from sight, you may still leave tell-tale signs such as dashboard / windshield mounts, power cords, etc.
• GlobeXplorer now offers users access to multiple historical satellite and aerial photo images.
• GPS tracking getting under your skin with all the big brother connotations? At least they aren’t injecting people with GPS devices. Check out this article on RFID tracking! Via SlashGeo.
• Mapping Hacks reports on an interesting tool that allows people to define their own neighborhoods. The first city’s neighborhoods to be mapped is San Francisco.
