Earlier today, Garmin announced a number of new products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Amazon is moving fast with new pages up for the eTrex Legend Cx and GPSMAP 60CSx. As previously reported, these "x" models add a removable SD card. The 60x and 76x models use the new SiRFIII chipsets, for improved performance under canopy and in natural or urban canyons.
The press release for the x-line says they are "expected to be available in the first quarter of 2006," but the individual web pages (links below) state an expected availability of January 2006. Here are the Garmin pages on these units:
- eTrex Legend Cx
- eTrex Vista Cx
- GPSMAP 60Cx
- GPSMAP 60CSx (Update: GPSMAP 60CSx review)
- GPSMAP 76Cx (Update: GPSMAP 76Cx review)
- GPSMAP 76CSx
Garmin also announced the following today:
Finally, Garmin announced a nuvi blog that should be interesting to follow over the next few days. They are even giving away a nuvi 350 per day for the next four days!
Stay tuned to GPS Tracklog. I'm sure I'll have more info on these units before much time passes.
EDIT: Here's a new page from Garmin on their new GPS receivers.
