I received a Garmin Oregon 400t review unit yesterday, right before a scheduled bike ride with a friend. I scrambled to get Garmin's Colorado mount on my bike, which works with the Oregon series, since the carabiner attachment is the same on both models. (The RAM mount will not work however, since the Oregon is smaller than the Colorado.) I had no time to set up waypoints or routes, or load tracks. Nevertheless, I do have some first impressions to share...

updates the TomTom ONE XL-S, with a new design that includes a built-in mount, dubbed the EasyPortTM,
that stows on the back of the device. Other than the form factor and re-designed speaker, this
new entry level model is almost identical to its older sibling.

A French website is reporting that Garmin is about to unveil what has become known as a "crossover" unit, that is, one that you can use on the trail or on the road (and perhaps on water as well). The nuvi 500 is thought to be based on the nuvi 2x5 series platform, albeit with a ruggedized, waterproof exterior.

Buy.com appears to have jumped the gun and has a couple of pages up on a new Garmin handheld line -- the Garmin Oregon, complete with a touch screen. Not yet officially announced, the Garmin Oregon line is slated to have the same 3" diagonal, 240x400 pixel screen size as the Colorado series, though the unit itself is an inch shorter and a half-ounce lighter.

The Mio Moov 380 has cleared the FCC, so we now have another GPS with two-way connectivity coming to the U.S. to compete with the Dash Express and the forthcoming Magellan Maestro Elite 5340+GPRS and Garmin nuvifone.
The Mio Moov 380 will have a built-in SIM card as well as a micro-SD card slot. No word on pricing, who their carrier or search partner is, or what the monthly connection fee will be.
